Angel Flight South Central (AFSC) is proud to be entering its 16th year as a nonprofit, serving communities in our five-state region: Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and parts of New Mexico. AFSC, founded in Texas as Angel Flight, Inc., by Peggy Goll and twelve other volunteer pilots in 1991, has experienced tremendous growth in sixteen years (see chart to the right).
As the organization has grown, it has inhabited several different office spaces at Addison Airport. For several years, the staff worked out of the Buce Building at 4310 Wiley Post Road in Addison, Texas. In June of 2004, AFSC relocated to the Million Air FBO complex, on the second floor of a hangar just south of the main building at 4310 Amelia Earhart Drive, Addison, Texas.
Over the years, the organization has passed many milestones. The 10,000th mission was flown in 2004 (photo to left). The pilot roster has grown to almost 1,200 pilots during 2005. During 2004, AFSC added a dedicated hangar in Houston at Hobby Airport for patients travelling to the Texas Medical Center.
