Volunteer opportunities

Angel Flight South Central (AFSC) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies heavily on volunteers to carry out its mission. The value contributed by our volunteer pilots is unprecedented in the nonprofit community.

Fundraising

Special EventsTakeiah L.
We're always on the lookout for enthusiastic committee members to assist with our special events. Contact Cindy Palmer for opportunities to help with our III Forks Golf Classic in September, our Swingtime Big Band Gala in October or to volunteer for other fundraising events benefiting Angel Flight South Central in other cities in our region. We need committee members to secure silent auction items and assist in securing reservations and sponsorships for events for AFSC.

Community Sponsorship & Corporate Support
If you have contacts with a corporation or foundation in your area that might consider supporting Angel Flight, please contact Cindy Palmer at 972-458-0020.   Also, many employers will match funds or volunteer hours of employees' philanthropic efforts.

Other office opportunities
If you have a few hours each week on a regular basis, we always need help with pilot and patient administrationrescue, database administration, answering phones, filing, and preparing large mailings.  Please contact Angie Fonseca if you can help out in our office with administrative tasks.

We also seek someone willing to make a long-term commitment to train as a volunteer mission coordinator. No previous experience necessary—we will train. A mission coordinator is our most important staff position, in that he or she finds volunteer pilots on our roster willing to fly missions. To start, this person would come into the office on Friday mornings (our busiest day) to train. After a training period, the coordinator would be called if a staff member is sick or absent during busy times. (One of our best coordinators started as a volunteer.) Contact Shireen Pitassi if you are interested in a fast-paced and rewarding volunteer opportunity.

Community Outreach
Angel Flight is always looking for opportunities to spread the word about our fine organization. Outreach opportunities include speaking to civic groups (Rotary, Kiwanis), healthcare organizations, religious groups, social workers, and pilot associations/ flying clubs. Contact Cindy Palmer at 972-458-0020 for more information.

Office Volunteers
HELP WANTED:

This job has flexible hours. Much of the work can be done from a home office. If you are well connected in the community with good people skills, this could be a very rewarding, responsible, high-profile volunteer position. You’ll get to work with the Leadership Team and make a huge impact on the ongoing well being of the organization.  Please contact the Executive Director.
