Legacy Giving

A planned gift, or legacy gift, is a contribution that is arranged in the present and allocated at a future date. These incredible gifts represent the future of Angel Flight South Central (AFSC). AFSC invites donors to include it in their estate plans through various planned gift options, many of which do not require the modification of a will. Legacy gifts can also have significant tax benefits for donors and their heirs. Whatever your estate planning objectives might be, creating a lasting legacy for those in need of free air transportation for medical care and humanitarian purposes. Below are just a few of your legacy giving options with AFSC.

Will or Trust

Making a gift through your will or trust is an easy way to impact the lives of those in need for years to come. This can be accomplished through a specific gift, residuary gift or a contingent gift.

Specific Gift - Through this type of gift, you describe exactly what kind of gift and a specific dollar amount you wish to leave.

Residuary Gift - This gift is honored AFTER all other bequests have been made and all debts, expenses and taxes have been paid.

Contingent Gift - This type of gift is fulfilled once certain conditions are met.

Beneficiary Designation Gifts

Some donors prefer the flexibility of beneficiary designations through IRAs, other retirement plans and life insurance policies.  These are simple and powerful ways to support the work of AFSC without changing your will or living trust and can be done through your plan administrator, financial institutions and / or financial planner. Beneficiary gifts go directly to AFSC without going through the probate process, allowing for immediate impact.

IRA Charitable Rollover

If you are 70 1/2 years old or older, you can take advantage of a simple way to benefit AFSC and receive tax benefits in return. You can give up to $10,000 from your IRA directly to a qualified charity, such as AFSC, without having to pay income taxes on the money.

Prospective donors are urged to consult their personal tax and financial advisors concerning the specific consequences of making gifts to Angel Flight South Central.
