Angel Flight South Central Beginnings
Clay Roark became involved with Angel Fligth in 2003, and joined the Board of Directors in March 2018. He is often heard saying that when he grows up, he wants to be Ray Bailey, another distinguished member of the Angel Flight Board.

​Aviation Adventures
Clay began his flying career at an early age, as his father was a pilot. Over the years, he has owned and flown a Cessna 172, Cessna 182, Beechcraft V35B, Beechcraft A36, Beechcraft Baron, Beechcraft Duke, Mitsubishi MU2, and currently he flies a Cessna Citation CJ. Currently an ATP, he flies his Citation out of Arlington, Texas.

Personal Stories
Clay Roark is the President of QFC Industries, Inc. and Industrial Bolt and Supply, Inc., with corporate offices located in Arlington, Texas. Both companies supply fasteners and industrial supplies to original equipment manufacturers. Clay began his career in the fastener industry in 1975 with QFC Industries, Inc. He started his own fastener and industrial supply company in 1979 and sold his interest in the company three years later.

Clay decided to finish his undergraduate degree and pursue a legal career. In 1990, Clay graduated from Florida State University College of Law and moved back to Texas. A year later, he was admitted to the State Bar of Texas and joined the law firm of Bush, Bode, Babb and Morrison, P.C., where he later became a partner. He was admitted to the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Texas in 1991 and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in 1994. Clay’s first corporate client was QFC Industries, Inc.

In 2007, Clay was approached by the owner of QFC Industries, Inc. about purchasing QFC. He purchased the company in March 2008 and set out to acquire additional companies in the fastener and industrial supply industry. Over the course of six years, he successfuly acquired Sabre Steel, Quality Corp and Swarf Products, and Industrial Fasteners, now known as Industrial Bolt and Supply, Inc.

Founded in 1991, AFSC is based in Dallas and serves Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. With the help of amazing and generous volunteer pilots, we provide free flights for people in need of humanitarian assistance or medical treatment.
