SCOTT GLOYNA
Director

Angel Flight South Central Beginnings
An active member of his community, serving others has always been a part of his life. Scott became a
volunteer pilot with Angel Flight South Central just before Christmas in 2014, adding purpose to his life-
long passion for aviation. To date he has flown more than 400 life-changing and life-saving missions.
Scott served as the Northwest Texas Wing Leader from 2018-2024, where he was actively involved in
recruitment and community engagement for the Angel Flight mission. Following his service as Wing
Leader, Scott joined the Board of Directors in 2025.
Aviation Adventures
Scott grew up on a farm in the Texas Panhandle and this is where his passion for aviation began. After his
graduation from Texas Tech University and a short stint in banking, he joined the United States Air Force
in 1987 where he flew the KC-135R Stratotanker. During his time in the Air Force, he served as a
Navigator participating in Operation Desert Shield, Operation Just Cause, and various other classified
campaigns where he received multiple medals. Scott purchased his first airplane, a pristinely restored
1957 Piper Tri Pacer, in 2002 and he has never looked back. He currently flies a 2020 Cirrus SR-22T and
is based out of Lubbock, Texas.
Personal Stories
Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Scott and his family returned to Lubbock where he
launched his own company, Day Break, Inc. Through this company, he has developed and grown the
specialty coffee market in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Scott currently lives in Lubbock, Texas
with his beautiful wife Marzee where they enjoy being active in the community, their church, and all
Texas Tech University events. They have two adult children, one living in Dallas and one in Houston and
love traveling when time permits.
