Angel Flight South Central Beginnings
Sewall C. Cutler, Jr. (“Spike”) joined Angel Flight South Central in 2005 and became a member of the Board of Directors in February 2018.

Aviation Adventures
A life-long aviation enthusiast, Spike learned to fly in 2002 and uses aviation for both business and pleasure. An instrument-rated pilot, Spike flies a Beechcraft V35A Bonanza out of his base at Addison Airport in Addison, Texas.

​Personal Stories
Spike is a founding shareholder and the President of Cutler-Smith, P.C. The firm specializes in business litigation and transactional work, with a principal focus on the representation of clients involved in the construction industry. Spike is admitted to practice before all trial court and appellate court levels in the State of Texas. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Districts of Texas. Spike is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

In the course of his advocacy for construction industry participants, Spike serves as General Counsel for the Subcontractors Association of the Metroplex; the Independent Electrical Contractors, Dallas Chapter; the Independent Electrical Contractors, Fort Worth/Tarrant County Chapter; and the National Underground Contractors Association, North Texas Chapter. In addition, Spike is on the Board of Directors and Legislative Council of the Independent Electrical Contractors of Texas. He also serves as a board member for Pilots of America, a non-profit corporation dedicated to the free exchange of information by and between pilots and the aviation community as a whole.

​Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Spike received a bachelor of Business Administration from National University, San Diego, California in 1987, and graduated from the Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1992.

Founded in 1991, AFSC is based in Dallas and serves Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. With the help of amazing and generous volunteer pilots, we provide free flights for people in need of humanitarian assistance or medical treatment.
