Randy Richison learned to fly in Omaha, NE, in 1965 while he was working as a pharmaceutical representative.  In 1966, he married Margie, a Nebraska Registered Nurse, and they moved to Oklahoma the following year.  Randy and Margie flew for fun until the children started arriving in 1968.

Randy joined Merrill Lynch in 1968 and later opened an office for EF Hutton in Norman, OK, in 1983.  Currently, he works as a Financial Advisor at Southwest Securities, Inc. in Norman.  In 1995, after his two daughters finished their education, married and started their careers, he and Margie resumed flying again.

A year later, Margie earned her private pilot certificate at OU in Norman.  She continued her flight training and became a flight instructor at the OU’s Department of Aviation in Norman.  Encouraging girls and women to learn to fly was her main goal as a flight instructor.  Margie and Randy continued to fly over most of the United States, but their most memorable trip was in 2001 when they flew to Fairbanks, Alaska, and back to Norman in their Piper Dakota.

Randy created a memorial scholarship in Margie’s name for female flight students at OU after she died in 2008.

Randy is always looking for new volunteer pilots to help patients in Oklahoma.  He has been flying for Angel Flight South Central since 2003 and enjoys helping patients in Oklahoma get the medical treatment they need.  Do you want to learn more about becoming an Angel Flight pilot?  Contact Randy using the form below.
