South Texas Regional Wing
Due to the unique geographic characteristics of the South Texas Region, Angel Flight South Central is proud to have two Wing Leaders supporting the area. Proudly serving as volunteer pilots and Wing Leaders are: Dr. Mark Mosier (Kerrville, TX) and Royal Schiro (San Antonio, TX).
Mark Mosier
Mark’s aviation background is lengthy beginning with taking his first flight at the age of 10 days. He has been in an airplane since. His grandparents started an extensive family aviation legacy. This past year, the Mosier Family was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for their aviating intelligence work during WW2.
Recently, Dr Mosier was honored in the Texas House of Representatives with a
Resolution recognizing the extensive flights under conditions of duress which,
according to the House Speaker, resulted in lives being saved.
The past 10 years, Dr Mosier’s local volunteering has mostly been for the Kerrville
Airport Board with his term as president ending last summer. He is also a board
member of Texas A&M Aviation.
He has used his aviating as a mean of charitable work since 1987 ranging from flying into and serving remote areas in 3rd world countries, hurricane and 911 disaster relief, flying disadvantaged patients to receive medical treatment such as Angel Flight and similar, and even flying dogs to new homes to help animal shelters.
Royal Schiro
Royal Schiro is a dedicated entrepreneur and aviator with a passion for serving his community, proudly stepping into the role of Wing Leader for the Angel Flight South Texas Region. With over 15 years of experience successfully running businesses, Royal brings a wealth of leadership and organizational expertise to his volunteer work. Originally from New Orleans, he relocated to San Antonio, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Entrepreneurship from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Currently, Royal is pursuing a career in aviation, combining his love for flying with his commitment to making a difference.

Inspired by his brother, Hunter Schiro, a liver cancer survivor and devoted philanthropist, Royal found his calling to give back through Angel Flight. Hunter’s resilience and generosity motivated Royal to volunteer his time and piloting skills to transport patients in need of medical care. Having flown numerous missions with Angel Flight, Royal cherishes every moment spent helping patients and their families, finding immense fulfillment in providing safe, compassionate transport.

Royal’s entrepreneurial spirit, aviation expertise, and heartfelt dedication to service make him an exemplary leader for the South Texas Region, where he continues to inspire and uplift the community through his work with Angel Flight.
